The 2024 European Team Championships is officially under way after tonight’s opening ceremony in Uster.
The teams have been arriving during the day, and after Hotel check-in were exploring the venue – there’s a lot of it to see – and getting in some last-minute practice before the action starts at 09.30 tomorrow.
The opening ceremony started with an introduction from host John Williams, some stirring videos evoking the spirit of all sports and of squash looking forward to the LA2028 Olympics, and videos from many of the competitors about what the found most exciting about the EuroTeams.
A parade of the teams followed, interviews with French Coach and former ETC competitor Thierry Lincou, and current start Marwan ElShorbagy and Tesni Evans.
